Abstract

Lastly, the translation 2 assignment was meant to be a poster about the topic discussed in the synthesis essay. For this poster it showed how language barriers can affect immigrants’ mental health, showing how difficult it was to communicate and how it could lead to isolation. This poster’s intended audience was to educators and policymakers to understand how deeply the lives of immigrants are being affected by language barriers. In hopes the intended audience would be aware of the issue at hand and be more welcoming toward immigrants. Completing this poster strengthened my ability to show complex ideas through images and symbolisms. This assignment also strengthened my ability to see the poster from the audience’s perspective. This was helpful because it made sure the message was clearly shown. Completing translation 2 taught me a lot of skills, as well as raising awareness of the issue of language barriers in the United States.
